Earnings week

Outlook 10/16: U.S. stock futures ticked higher Monday morning, as markets start a busy week for corporate earnings. Earnings season heats up this week with 11% of the S&P 500 slated to report results. Some notable names on deck this week include Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, Netflix and Tesla. Charles Schwab will report results before the bell Monday. Those results will come after a solid start to the reporting period. JPMorgan, Wells Fargo and UnitedHealth rose Friday after posting their latest quarterly results.

/ES Plan: Last session market closed bearish (PBT 4311), but overnight looks more bullish, moving within previous value, so these're the opening and initial balance options for today:

A) If market moves above YVAH 4381 with bullish internals, buy towards HVEs 4385-4406 and YHOD 4408.

B) If market moves below YVAH 4381 with bearish internals, sell towards GAP 4352 YVAL 4345 and PBT 4311.

Note: If market opens above value and it begins to trade within value, Value Area Rule VAR comes into play. It's Monday and Mondays are usually the quietest days of the week. Many traders want to take their time analyzing the market, and usually, there are few economic releases.
