Jobless Claims

Outlook 04/22: U.S. stock futures pointing to a flat open after jobless claims fell again last week as employment picture continues to improve. First-time claims for unemployment insurance totaled 547,000 last week, below the 603,000 estimated. The total represented a further decline in claims and gets the jobs picture closer to where it was pre-pandemic, though there’s still plenty of distance to cover. Report showed that both unemployment and underemployment remain significant problems for the U.S. economy. There are still 17.4 million Americans receiving benefits under the various programs in place.

/ESM21: YVAH 4165 YPOC 4152 YVAL 4133 GAP 4158.75

/ES Plan: Yesterday market closed bullish (PBT 4191), but overnight looks more balanced, moving within yesterday's value, so these are the initial balance options for today:

A) If market moves above YVAH 4165 with bullish internals, buy towards ONH 4167 GAP 4172 and PBT 4191.

B) If market remains below YVAH 4165 with bearish internals, sell towards YPOC 4152 YVAL 4133 and HVE 4123.

Note: Market opens within previous value area. Trading from responsive versus initiative is expected, so don't be 'too anxious' to trade early.
