Tariff talk

Outlook 07/08: Stock futures fall slightly as Bessent says several trade announcements are ahead. In an interview with reporters Sunday, President Donald Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick were asked to clarify when tariffs are set to go into effect. In response, Lutnick said, “Tariffs go into effect Aug. 1. But the president is setting the rates, and the deals, right now.” Trump nodded in approval. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also said in an interview on Sunday: “President Trump’s going to be sending letters to some of our trading partners saying that if you don’t move things along, then on August 1, you will boomerang back to your April 2 tariff level.” Investors had been expecting tariff rates to go into effect this week. Trump’s initial 90-day reprieve on the April “reciprocal” tariffs for most U.S. trading partners was set to end this week.

ESU25 (SEP2025): YVAH 6333 YPOC 6324 YVAL 6304

/ES Plan: Last market closed bullish (PBT 6355), but reopening after holidays, looks balanced, moving within previous value/range, so these're the opening and initial balance options for current session:

A) If market moves above YVAL 6304 with bullish internals/delta, buy towards ONH 6315 YPOC 6324 YVAH-YHOD 6333 and PBT 6355 magnet.

B) If market moves below YVAL 6304 with bearish internals/delta, sell towards ONL 6291 GAP 6272 magnet HVE 6241 and GAP 6220 magnet.

Note: Market opens inside value. Don't be 'too anxious'. Stay patient. You don’t have to be the first. Bad trades occur when you try to force things to happen. It's Monday and Mondays are usually the quietest days of the week. Many traders want to take their time analyzing the market, and usually, there are few economic releases.
