Jobless Claims

Outlook 12/03: U.S. stock futures are largely unchanged this morning as investors monitor the latest developments from Washington on a possible stimulus bill. First-time claims for unemployment insurance totaled 712,000 last week, lower than an estimate of 780,000. Jobless claims also fell for the first time in three weeks as the labor market showed resilience even in the face of a worsening pandemic. The Labor Department is set to release its closely watched jobs report for November on Friday. The U.S. economy is expected to add 440,000 jobs while the unemployment rate is estimated to decrease to 6.7%.

/ESZ20 Value: YVAH 3665 YPOC 3661 YVAL 3649 GAP 3670.25

/ES Plan: Yesterday market closed bullish (PBT 3679), but overnight looks more balanced, moving a few ticks above yesterday's value, so these are the initial balance options for today's opening:

A) If market remains above LIS YVAH 3665 with bullish internals, buy towards GAP 3670.25 ONH 3674.50 and PBTs 3679-84.

B) If market moves below LIS 3665 with bearish internals, sell towards ONL 3657.50 YVAL 3649 HVE 3639 and GAP 3628.

Note: Market opens above previous value area and if it remains above value, it is a clearly bullish signal. But, if market begins to trade within value with volume increasing, 'value area rule' comes into play.
