Outlook 01/03: U.S. stock futures fall Wednesday, after the Nasdaq registered its worst daily decline in nearly three months. Investors appeared to be selling last year’s tech winners, which soared in as the market anticipated easing monetary policy in 2024. But with the economy still on shaky ground and remaining uncertainty around when the Federal Reserve will finally begin cutting rates, investors seem to have curbed their enthusiasm. Traders will receive clues Wednesday on the state of the economy and where Federal Reserve policy could head to next. Minutes from the Fed’s December policy meeting are due out Wednesday. The job openings report for November and December’s ISM manufacturing data are also due.
