Retail Sales

Outlook 06/17: Stock futures move lower on Tuesday as investors pored through the latest developments in the Middle East, with the conflict between Israel and Iran raging on. On Monday evening, President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post that “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran.” Trump also left the G7 summit in Canada early to deal with the situation in the Middle East. SP500 is coming off a positive session on Monday despite the brewing conflict in the Middle East. An analysis of 25 geopolitical shocks dating back to the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941 showed that stocks have been resilient in these scenarios. Total drawdowns around these events have averaged 4.6% over an average of roughly 19 days. On the economic front, retail sales for May came in weaker than expected. Retail sales fell 0.9% for the period, lower than forecast for a 0.6% fall.

Rollover ESU25 (SEP2025): YVAH 6102 YPOC 6091 YVAL 6081 GAP 6094

/ES Plan: Yesterday market closed bullish (PBT 6180), but overnight, after Retail Sales looks bearish, moving below previous value, so these're the opening and initial balance options for current session:

A) If market moves above HVE 6068 with bullish internals/delta, buy towards GAP-ONH 6094 GAP 6154 ATH 6166 and PBT 6180 all magnets.

B) If market moves below HVE 6068 with bearish internals/delta, sell towards ONL 6045 HVEs 6039-6000 and Rollover GAP 5988 magnet.

Reminder: I'm quoting /ESU25 (Sep 2025) after September volume is greater than June. Usually rollover days show big divergences between Stocks vs. Futures, so try to play these days on defensive mode. Setups that usually work well, may fail completely.

Note: Market opens below value and if it begins to trade within value, VAR comes into play.
